Full Kitchen Remodels
Down to the studs and back: cabinets, counters, appliances, lighting, flooring, and backsplash replaced in one coordinated build. One contract, one schedule, one crew responsible for all of it.
Cabinets, counters, layout changes, and everything behind the walls — kitchen remodels built by our own Bend crew since 2016.
What We Remodel
A kitchen is the one room where every trade shows up: cabinetry, countertops, electrical, plumbing, gas, tile, flooring, drywall, paint. Most contractors in Bend coordinate that as a parade of subcontractors. We don't. The Rockin' K crew that demos your old cabinets is the same crew that hangs the new ones, runs the wiring, sets the tile, and hands you the keys back — which is why our kitchens come out tight and our schedules hold.
We take on kitchen renovation work at every scale: pull-and-replace updates where the footprint stays put, and full reconfigurations where a wall comes out, the island grows, and the plumbing moves to match how you actually cook. If your project reaches beyond the kitchen — baths, flooring through the house — see our full remodeling services. And if the kitchen needs more square footage than the house has, that's a kitchen expansion, covered on our home additions page.
Scope of Work
Down to the studs and back: cabinets, counters, appliances, lighting, flooring, and backsplash replaced in one coordinated build. One contract, one schedule, one crew responsible for all of it.
Removing walls, adding or enlarging islands, and opening the kitchen to dining and living space. Where a wall is load-bearing, we coordinate the engineering and beam work as part of the job.
New cabinet installs in stock, semi-custom, and custom lines — or refacing and painting when the boxes are worth keeping. Quartz, granite, and butcher block counters templated and set to fit.
Recessed cans, island pendants, and under-cabinet lighting, plus the circuits behind them: dedicated appliance runs, added outlets, and panel work where older Bend homes need capacity.
Moving the sink to the island, relocating the dishwasher, running a gas line for the range you actually want. Rerouting supply and drain lines is normal kitchen work for us, not a change order surprise.
Hardwood, LVP, and tile floors installed to flow with adjoining rooms, plus backsplashes from subway to hex. Our crew sets the tile — the difference shows in the layout lines.
Pricing, Straight Up
Nobody prices a kitchen accurately from a phone call, but you deserve real ranges before you commit to anything. Here's how our Bend kitchen projects break out by scope.
Cabinets refaced or painted, new countertops, new fixtures and hardware. The layout, plumbing, and wiring stay where they are — the kitchen just stops looking like 1998.
[OWNER COST RANGE — DO NOT PUBLISH UNTIL FILLED]
New cabinets, counters, flooring, and lighting in the existing layout. The most common kitchen remodel we build in Bend — a fully new kitchen without moving walls or plumbing.
[OWNER COST RANGE — DO NOT PUBLISH UNTIL FILLED]
Layout changes, structural work, relocated plumbing and electrical, and high-end finishes. Walls come out, the island moves, and the kitchen is rebuilt around how you live.
[OWNER COST RANGE — DO NOT PUBLISH UNTIL FILLED]
What actually drives the number in Bend: layout changes cost more than same-footprint replacements, because moving plumbing and electrical means opening walls and floors and paying for the rough-in work twice. Material tiers matter almost as much — the spread between stock cabinets with laminate counters and custom boxes under quartz can be the price of a car. Appliance packages, tile coverage, and structural work on load-bearing walls fill out the rest. We put every line in the proposal so you can see where your money goes and trade scope where it makes sense.
Permits
Cosmetic kitchen updates — new cabinets in the same spots, counters, flooring, paint — typically don't need a permit in Bend. Electrical, plumbing, gas, or structural changes do, through the City of Bend for properties inside city limits or Deschutes County for rural ones. Permitting is part of our contract: we prepare the applications, pull the permits, and meet the inspectors, and the work is done to code so those inspections pass the first time.
How It Works
You'll know what's happening in your kitchen every week it's under construction — starting with these four steps.
Fifteen free minutes on the phone about your kitchen: what's not working, what you're hoping to spend, and when you'd want the dust to start. If we're not the right fit, we'll say so.
We measure the kitchen, check what's behind it — panel capacity, plumbing runs, which walls hold the roof up — and talk through layout options standing in the actual space.
A line-item proposal, then selections: cabinet line, counter slab, tile, fixtures, lighting. We order the long-lead items first so the build doesn't stall waiting on cabinets.
Demo through final walkthrough with our in-house crew, sequenced to keep your house livable. One person answers your calls the whole way — no wondering who's showing up tomorrow.

Kitchen Clients
We worked with Josh and his crew on a major remodel of our kitchen. He was great to work with! Experienced, professional and a clean work area. He communicates effectively and plans well. Josh has been responsive and helpful with follow up calls, questions and add-on's. I would be happy work with him again in the future should the need arise.
Josh and his team were amazing. We interviewed multiple contractors and he was the most hands on and brought multiple ideas and suggestions to a major kitchen and main floor remodel. He is extremely knowledgeable and communicative, always showing up on time, answering all of our questions, and completing things according to schedule — not to mention friendly and engaging. I have referred him to many people who have had the same experience!

Common Questions
Straight answers to the questions homeowners ask us before starting a kitchen.
Most full kitchen remodels we build in Bend land between $50,000 and $150,000+. Where you fall in that range comes down to three things: whether the layout changes, the cabinet and countertop tier you pick, and appliances. Keeping the existing footprint keeps costs down; moving plumbing walls or opening the kitchen to the living space pushes them up. Run your numbers through our cost calculator for a rough starting point, then we'll firm it up after walking your kitchen.
Plan on roughly two to three months of construction for a full kitchen once demo starts, and less for a pull-and-replace update in the same footprint. The bigger schedule factor is usually cabinetry — custom and semi-custom boxes come with lead times, so we don't start demo until your cabinets have a confirmed delivery date. That's how we keep you from living in a torn-up kitchen while parts trickle in.
If we're only swapping finishes — new cabinets in the same spots, new counters, new flooring — a permit typically isn't required in Bend. The moment the project touches wiring, gas, plumbing lines, or a wall, permits come into play through the City of Bend for in-town properties or Deschutes County for rural ones. We pull the permits and schedule the inspections as part of the contract, so it's not something you have to manage.
Almost always, yes. A kitchen remodel doesn't touch bedrooms or bathrooms, so most of our clients stay put. The honest part: you'll be without a working kitchen for several weeks. Most families set up a temporary station — fridge, microwave, coffee maker — in the garage or dining room, and we help get that in place before demo day. We seal off the work area with dust barriers and keep the rest of the house livable.
For most kitchens, you don't need to hire a separate designer. We work out the layout, cabinet specs, and material selections with you during the proposal phase — after years of building kitchens in Central Oregon, we know which counters, cabinet lines, and finishes hold up and which ones we'd skip. If you already have an architect or designer involved, that works too; we're happy to build from their plans.
We build kitchens throughout Deschutes County: Bend, Redmond, Sisters, Sunriver, Tumalo, La Pine, and Terrebonne. If you're elsewhere in Central Oregon, give us a call — depending on where our crew is working that season, we can often make the drive work.
